Remote Learning: The Last Snow Day

Mark the date. Friday, March 13th was the last SNOW DAY. For years, remote learning has been on top-of-mind but there was not enough momentum to really make it work.

We may be about to see some real disruption in education.

Now schools all over the country are scrambling to pull together remote learning for their students and faculty. It’s going to be messy. There will be LOTS of mistakes. Innovation is hard. Ask any entrepreneur.

But make no mistake about the implications. Remote learning will become a permanent part of the educational toolkit.

Which gets me back to my original premise. With remote learning capability, there’s no need to shut down for bad weather.

As government leaders take steps to Flatten The Curve for COVID-19, for many schools around the country, Friday March 13th was the last day of regular school.

So, have we seen the last snow day?
